Maricor completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s education in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Waterloo. She is now a PhD candidate at the Department of Biology pursuing an interdisciplinary and collaborative research project on innovative water treatment approaches (nanotechnology) and exposure assessment of endocrine disrupting chemicals. She belonged to the first cohort of the Collaborative Water Program that commenced in 2014 and was a teaching intern for the program from 2015 to 2016.
Maricor is also a recipient of a few water-focused scholarships including the RBC Water Entrance Scholarship, Allan Holmes Scholarship (Grand River Water Foundation), and the Golder Associates Graduate Scholarship in Water (Water Institute).
